Mike Matichich has more than 30 years of experience in conducting financial planning studies for public infrastructure projects and he leads CH2M’s firm-wide financial services consulting team. He served as the lead financial consultant in the development of a strategic plan for the West Coast Infrastructure Exchange, a collaborative effort of California, Oregon, Washington and the Canadian province of British Columbia to explore the use of private capital to address the significant infrastructure backlog in the West Coast Jurisdictions. He has led development of ‘value for money’ and other related studies as part of business case evaluations to help clients determine whether specific projects would be most cost effectively delivery through traditional public delivery/finance or through collaborative models such as design-build-operate-finance (DBOF) models. He is a member of the ‘High Road’ study team led by NRDC; the High Road team has worked to identify ways to accelerate implementation of needed public infrastructure projects that also help to satisfy triple bottom line objectives such as creation of meaningful jobs for local low income populations and deployment of local contractors.
